Sterling Products Limited only two months ago took an ice cream parlour where families can go and enjoy an evening out to the village of Enmore, East Coast Demerara. It is now assuring the public that it hopes to further establish other branches countrywide, starting with East Berbice at least by the end of next year.

The Enmore branch was commissioned on September 15, last. According to SPL officials, the location has quickly become a “prime meeting place where families and passers-by unwind in a pleasant environment” and enjoy Igloo’s many flavours of ice-cream.

Among the flavours offered at the outlet are Vanilla, Chocolate, and Strawberry along with Cherry and Cookies and Cream ice-cream. Ice-cream lovers can also select from among other fun flavours such as Fudge Brownie, Pie Crust, Choco-Peanut, Lemon Cake and Sour-sop.
Yoghurt, milkshakes and ice-cream cones, in addition to Ben & Jerry’s, Magnum and other ice-cream varieties are also available.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sterling Products Limited, Ramsay Ali, noted that the launch of the Enmore Igloo Ice-Cream facility, which is basically a replica of the branch currently functioning at Providence, East Bank Demerara, was another successful business model presented by the company.

It continues to deliver ice-cream to selected areas across the country. The CEO added, “The Providence outlet was successfully remodelled and upgraded two years ago and has a popular play-park that is a big drawing card and a hub of social activity for families from nearby communities.”

“What you have seen at Providence is exactly what is happening at Enmore…Families are coming out on weekends, especially in the afternoons. They are bringing their children; they are buying ice-cream products and they are using the play area to have some fun,” Ali said.
Ali also emphasized that his company’s business development model has a strong social component that seeks to develop communities and enhance family ties. “What [Sterling Products Ltd. has] done is to create an environment for people to come and spend quality time with their children…It is very wholesome,”

Sterling Products Limited was established in Guyana some 62 years back (1954) under IS0 9001 quality management. According to the company’s CEO each facility is built and operated according to strict hygienic and safety standards.
The Enmore facility’s children’s play-park complies with the highest standards of comfort and safety.
