Sterling Products Limited takes Ice-cream magic to Enmore
A new Igloo Ice Cream outlet at the Enmore mall, East Coast Demerara is using the magic of sweet treats to generate fun, positive human engagement and community spirit in the area.
Launched on September 15, the newest Sterling Products Ltd. venture has quickly become a prime meeting place where families and passersby can unwind in a pleasant environment and enjoy Igloo’s Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Cherry and Cookies and Cream ice-cream.
Ice-cream lovers can also select from among other fun flavours such as Fudge Brownie, Pie Crust, Choco-Peanut, Lemon Cake and Sour-Sop.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sterling Products Ltd., Ramsay Ali said the launching of the Enmore Igloo Ice Cream facility was the continuation of a successful business model whereby the company takes its top-quality ice-cream to selected locations and makes a positive social contribution by getting people from different cultural backgrounds to merge and mix, based on their shared love of sweet treats.
The CEO explained that the Enmore outlet is practically a replica of Igloo Ice Cream’s thriving outlet at Providence, East Bank Demerara.
He said the Providence outlet was successfully remodeled and upgraded two years ago and has a popular play-park that is a big drawing card and a hub of social activity for families from nearby communities.
“What you have seen at Providence is exactly what is happening at Enmore…Families are coming out on weekends, especially in the afternoons. They are bringing their children; they are buying ice-cream products and they are using the play area to have some fun…” Ali said.
The CEO emphasised that his company’s business development model has a strong social component that seeks to develop communities and enhance family ties. “What [Sterling products Ltd. has] done is to create the environment for people to come and spend quality time with their children…it is very wholesome…” Ali pointed out.
He said Sterling Products Limited, which is ISO 9001: 2015 compliant, is considering opening similar outlets across Guyana. One is on the cards for East Berbice next year.
He added that each facility is built and operated according to strict hygienic and safety standards, adding that the Enmore facility’s children’s play-park complies with the highest standards of comfort and safety.
Visitors to the new ice-cream shop at Enmore will find that it is brightly lit and colourful. The team of six friendly staff all hail from the Enmore community.
Apart from the much sought after Igloo Ice-Cream flavours, patrons can also buy Ben & Jerry’s, Magnum and other ice-cream varieties. Other Sterling Products sweet treats available include yoghurt, milkshakes and ice-cream cones.
The outlet opens from 11:00h until 20:00h and sometimes later on weekends.
