As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Sterling Products Limited is honored to support the women of Maruranau Village, Region 9, through funding for the establishment of a community multipurpose food processing facility. This initiative empowers Indigenous women to develop sustainable livelihoods by producing a variety of goods, including baked products, juices, and meats, which they not only sell within their community but also to neighboring villages and towns, expanding their reach and creating stronger economic ties across the region.
The facility has created direct employment opportunities for 25 persons, with additional indirect employment generated through supporting activities such as transportation, raw material supply, and local trade. With a total investment of GYD 10 million, this project not only provides financial empowerment but also builds long-term resilience.
By investing in projects that are led and managed by the community, Sterling helps to foster entrepreneurship, improve food security, and strengthen Guyana’s hinterland economy. This partnership reflects our commitment to uplifting communities and ensuring that development opportunities extend beyond the coast, reaching the heart of the country where they are needed most.
