Georgetown, Guyana – July 23, 2025 — Sterling Products Limited proudly hosted its annual Bursary Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, recognizing the outstanding academic achievements of employees’ children who successfully sat the National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA).
The event, held at the company’s headquarters in Providence, East Bank Demerara, brought together staff, students, and families for a meaningful occasion of celebration and encouragement. These bursaries are part of Sterling’s continued commitment to education and community development, aimed at providing financial support and motivation to students as they enter the next phase of their academic journey.
Delivering the feature address, CEO Mr. Ramsay Ali congratulated the awardees and commended their parents for their dedication. “This bursary is not just a reward for academic success,” he said. “It is a symbol of our belief in the potential of every child and our responsibility to invest in the future generation.”
Special guest Mr. Kobena Paul, President of the Clerical and Commercial Workers’ Union, delivered an inspiring message, encouraging students to strive for balance in their academic and personal lives. “Yes, study hard but also play, read, and enjoy your school life. Life is not only about books; it’s about living well-rounded and meaningful lives,” he said.
Ms. Ashwini Sarran, a representative of the Ministry of Education’s Career Guidance Unit, also addressed the audience. She applauded both the students and parents for their perseverance and reminded the young awardees that secondary school marks the beginning of their career paths. “Take this opportunity seriously, ask questions, seek help, and remember your future is what you make of it,” she encouraged.
Ms. Sarran also emphasized the Ministry’s continued efforts to provide mentorship and guidance and urged parents to stay actively involved in their children’s growth.
